Desmond Scott
Owner and CEO
Desmond Scott is a graduate of Duke University in Durham, NC. Upon his graduation in 2013, he founded health and wellness enterprise, Prime Athletic Training & Fitness Institute. A former Duke Football standout, he was the first person in Duke History, and the 3rd in ACC history, to amass over 1000 yards rushing, receiving, and kick off return. Knowing the importance of overall health and wellness, he made it his duty to provide his community with the tools needed to embrace a healthier lifestyle.

I joined the Prime family as a Life Trainer in March 2018. I came on board the team as a former Eye Wear Consultant and I decided to make a career change to enhance my knowledge and skills to be the best Life Trainer I can be.My aim is to create a positive and fun experience as I work to elevate the well-being of each Prime member while assisting and empowering with the skills, support and guidance needed to inspire individuals on their personal journey to a healthier lifestyle.

I am a student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Duke University. I graduated from Morgan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. I was also a member of the cross and track & field team. I am a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I enjoy being a personal trainer because I love helping people reach their goals and see results from their hard work. My goal is to create workout programs that are fun yet challenging for all of my clients.
Jonathan G.
Life Trainer
Jon joined the Prime family as a Life Trainer in March of 2018. He came to us as a former government employee from Elizabeth City, NC. He decided to make a career change and elevate his passion for helping others by joining the Prime Family. As a current life trainer here at Prime, he is certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist and actively pursuing a Master of Arts in Wellness Promotion to help better serve the Prime/Durham community. His goal for each member of Prime is to not solely change physical appearances, but to help each member build skills and mindset to independently maintain a healthy lifestyle. He has continued to grow and help others grow while bringing smiles, laughter and solutions in the process.
